What you are buying

A subscription gives you access, for as long as it is active, to our library of evidence graded health information and to the members assistant. You are buying access to information. You are not buying medical care, a consultation, a diagnosis, or any promise about your health. Please read the medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Accounts

You need to be at least 18. Keep your login details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has them. One account is for one person; please do not share it.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Prices include any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise. If prices change we will tell you before the change affects you.

Your right to withdraw, and our refund promise

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Because this is digital content supplied immediately, that right can be lost once you start using the service, and by subscribing you agree to immediate access and acknowledge that.

We do not want to rely on that. If you are unhappy, tell us and we will refund the current period. We would rather return your money than keep a subscriber who feels misled.

Fair use of the assistant

The assistant has a daily question limit, shown to you as you use it, so that very heavy use by a few people does not set the price for everyone. Please do not attempt to automate it, resell access, or use it to generate content for another service.

Our content

The writing on this site belongs to us. You are welcome to read it, use it in your own life, quote it with credit, and discuss it with your doctor. Please do not republish it wholesale or use it to train a competing service.

Limits on our liability

We take real care with what we publish, but we cannot promise the information is complete, current, or right for your situation, and you act on it at your own discretion. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Ending things

You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that is being used abusively, shared widely, or used in a way that puts other people at risk, and we will tell you why.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and you may bring proceedings there.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell account holders by email where the change is significant.
