Medical Disclaimer

What this service is, what it is not, and when to stop reading and call someone.

This is the most important page on the site. Please read it before you rely on anything here.

This is education, not medical care

RootCause AI provides general health information about nutrition, physical activity, sleep and stress. It is written by a pharmacist registered in Cyprus. It is not medical advice, and using this site does not create any professional relationship between you and us.

Nothing here is tailored to you. We do not know your medical history, your test results, your medication list, or anything else a clinician would need before advising you.

What we do not do

  • We do not diagnose. Neither the site nor the assistant will tell you what condition you have.
  • We do not prescribe, and we do not tell you to change your medication. Never start, stop or alter a prescribed medicine because of something you read here. Speak to your prescriber or your own pharmacist.
  • We do not claim that food, exercise, sleep or any natural approach treats, prevents or cures disease. Improving your general health and treating a disease are different things, and we are careful never to blur them.
  • We do not interpret test results, scans or lab values.
  • We are not a substitute for your doctor, and we will never suggest you delay or avoid seeing one.

If something is urgent

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 112 immediately, anywhere in the European Union including Cyprus, or your local emergency number if you are elsewhere. Do not use this site or the assistant. Do not wait for a reply to a message.

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please talk to someone who can help. In Cyprus you can call the mental health helpline on 1416, or 112 in an emergency. Outside Cyprus, findahelpline.com lists free services by country.

The assistant, specifically

The assistant is an AI system. It is useful and it is fallible. It can be confidently wrong, and it may not know about recent research. Treat what it says as a well informed starting point for a conversation with a clinician, not as a conclusion.

It is built to stop and direct you to emergency care if you describe certain warning signs, but you should never rely on it to recognise an emergency. That safety net exists to catch obvious cases, not to make the judgement for you.

Supplements, herbs and interactions

Natural does not mean safe, and it certainly does not mean free of interactions. Many herbal products and supplements interact with prescription medicines, sometimes seriously. If you take any prescribed medicine, check with your pharmacist or prescriber before adding anything, including anything you read about here.

Particular caution

Speak to a clinician before acting on general health information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if the information concerns a child, if you are elderly, if you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease or heart disease, or if you are taking multiple medicines.

Evidence grades

We grade claims A, B or C according to how strong the evidence is, and we explain that system on the method page. Grades are our honest reading of the research at the time of writing. Evidence moves, and a grade can change.
